The next generation of Montreal entrepreneurs needs you! Contribute to the success of a new entrepreneur by sharing your time and expertise.

The Fondation du maire de Montréal pour la jeunesse is constantly seeking volunteers in the following areas:

Your Expertise

You are experienced as a professional or an entrepreneur and would like to share this experience with a young entrepreneur. You are interested in becoming involved in a mid- or long-term relationship through which you would provide guidance to a young entrepreneur starting in business. You have an open mind, are patient, have good communication skills and know how to share, ask questions and provide guidance without imposing your solutions.

Your Involvement

It can vary depending on the mentee, but this relationship requires a certain amount of availability.

Your Expertise

You are a professional in one of the following fields: communications, media relations, marketing/sales, finances/accounting or legal and judicial affairs. You are interested in sharing your expertise with a young entrepreneurwith specific needs in one of these fields.

Your Involvement

Varies according to needs. You indicate your availability and we refer you accordingly.

Your Expertise

You are familiar with business plans geared towards starting a business, able to critically assess the chances of success of a potential business, an entrepreneur's capacities, financial structures and sales strategies. You have specific knowledge concerning certain activity sectors, for example, the food services industry, communications, information technologies, design (clothing, furniture, accessories) or others.

You are part of a network within cultural communities that you can help us come into contact with to allow us to provide access to Fondation du maire de Montréal pour la jeunesse grants and services to young people within these communities.

Your Involvement

Projects are evaluated two times a year in March and October. You are provided with 2 to 3 business plans or proposed projects per evaluation. You are asked to read the plans or proposals and, as part of a two-man team, meet the candidates for a maximum period of one hour each. You are then asked to evaluate the projects and report on them during the evaluator's plenary meeting.

**Approximate duration of the evaluation of projects: 5 hours.

Your Expertise

You have a wide network that you would like to share with the Fondation du maire de Montréal pour la jeunesse. You would like to be involved in the organization of Exklusiv (May) or the prestigious Mayor's Ball (November).

Your Involvement

You will take part in the meetings of the event's Committee and help in the sale of sponsorships, tables and tickets. You could also be asked to help to find suppliers for the goods and services required during the event, of door prizes or of goods and services that will be auctioned off or drawn.
